Foot Neuroma

A Mortons Neuroma is essentially a benign thickening of a nerve that occurs between the 3rd and 4th inter-metatarsal space. (It is possible to develop a thickened nerve between the other metatarsals although technically these aren’t referred to as Mortons.)

Symptoms of this condition can vary but essentially there is:

  1. Numbness or altered sensation noted in a couple of toes (usually the 3rd and 4th)
  2. The feeling of a rolled up sock under your toes
  3. Tight fitting shoes exacerbate the symptoms
